Character descriptions

Olive Madison. Divorced, professional, vibrant, active, quick witted, big hearted but also relentlessly sloppy and careless when it comes to routine concerns of her personal life. Very much at home in a t-shirt and running shorts but able to glam it up in a cocktail dress. She is a woman seriously in need of order in her life.

Florence Unger. A homemaker and very recently separated from her husband. Was a bookkeeper before she was married, obsessive about tidiness, organised and neat even sanitises the telephone cord. She is the complete opposite of Olive. A woman who needs to relax, cut loose and chill.

Mickey. A New York policewoman an organiser and a problem solver. Can be sardonic at times.

Vera. Somewhat literal minded and a bit slow to get the point that everyone else gets instantly. Very sweet, nice and quite smart but always a step or two behind her friends. Quite funny but doesn't realise it.

Sylvie. Highly energised and a wise cracker. Desperately trying to stop smoking so sucks lollipops or chews. She can get irritated by her friends but has a good sense of humour, especially about her husband.

Renee. A wise cracker and a bit of a complainer as well. Sylvie's best friend. Can be plain spoken especially when she points out Olive's failings as a hostess and Flo's obsessiveness. She is single and dating.

Manolo. Spanish with a Castilian accent. Well-groomed, a dream date. Showers Olive and Florence with attention can get emotional. He is sensitive and appreciates Florences sensitivity. Must have good comic timing.

Jesus. Manolo's younger brother well groomed, good posture and very romantic. Also gets very emotional and truly appreciates Florence.
